The Art of Being Alone

I remember a quote from Albert Einstein that says, “I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity.” I can't believe I am even quoting it, but you know what, I love it! I believe is a great quote and I can completely associate with it. When did this happen? This feeling or necessity to just enjoy myself alone. Again! I don’t know! And I am certain it is not depression. Let’s not get worried and confuse the feelings. Being alone, it is just something that I find quite amusing to do, and I think I am privileged to have the chance to enjoy it for the moment.

But what is so special about being alone? Well, this is what I discovered!

  • I find peace within my spirit.
  • I can read peacefully! (Yes, that is a neat feeling!)
  • I learned that I can be independent and enjoy life for myself.
  • don’t need anybody else to “complete me”.
  • I can embrace the “ ugly me”, and think about how to correct it.
  • I also dedicate this time to get organized better, like for example: setting goals and letting go of those goals that are unrealistic.
  • Lastly, It’s a magic, intriguing and beautiful thing to be alone and revive yourself!

There is no better time than now for me to allow myself to be happy. It is time to recuperate all that I lost and offer all that I learned. By being alone, I am given the chance to learn about myself, expand my soul and allow myself to grow. I can finally close chapters of my life and become a better person. See, being alone is not a bad thing after all. At least for me, is not! What about you?
